New MCP server makes business data accessible to AI
Users can interact directly with business data through AI
This means AI no longer operates separately from business software, but can work with the data, processes and permissions already defined within it. The standard is supported by major AI providers, including Anthropic, Mistral AI and OpenAI. Users can choose which AI tool they want to use.
Security by design
With the rapid adoption of MCP, more and more connections between AI and business software are emerging. This makes it increasingly important to stay in control of what AI can access and what actions it is allowed to perform.
Our MCP server is therefore designed for enterprise use. Both administrators and users must explicitly grant permissions based on their roles before AI can be used. Within Thinkwise applications, AI tools operate through the same authorization structure as users. Any changes to data made by AI are also explicitly logged.
This ensures that the existing security and control of mission-critical applications remain in place when AI is used.
AI is changing the role of the developer
MCP is not only relevant to how applications are used, but also to how they are developed. Through MCP, developers can, for example, instruct a GenAI tool to develop parts of an application based on a description.
As a result, part of the development process shifts from manual modeling and coding towards describing, reviewing and refining what needs to be built. This can accelerate development and make it easier to integrate AI into the development process.
The difference compared to vibe coding is that the underlying technology does not need to be generated by AI each time. The application is built using model-driven development within the Thinkwise Platform, while the platform takes care of the underlying technology.
“MCP makes it possible to literally talk to your business data and embrace a new way of working. Instead of navigating through applications and searching for information, users can put AI to work to retrieve business-specific information, compile reports and perform actions.”
